Community Groups
What are community groups?
They are smaller gatherings of people (usually 6-12) from our church family for the purpose of building closer relationships with a few others in the church, in order to help one another know and serve the Lord better. The gatherings take place about once a week in the home of a host family, and usually last a couple hours. During this time group members hang out together, enjoy food with each other, pray for one another, discuss how to apply the sermon from the Sunday service to their lives, study the Bible together and so on. Exactly what each group does varies from group to group. Group members often get together informally with each other outside of the group meeting for fun, fellowship, accountability, or service of some type.
Where and when do community groups meet?
Presently we have three community groups. Groups typically meet on Sunday afternoons or evenings except on Sundays when we have a fellowship dinner after the morning service (usually the first Sunday of the month), or a special churchwide meeting for prayer (3 or 4 times a year). The groups don’t meet in the month of August, or during the holiday period from the two weeks before Christmas to the two weeks after Christmas. Basic information for the three groups is as follows.
