History
Our church planting team was first formed in the summer of 2006 when three families began meeting together to discuss the possibility of planting a PCA church in the area.
Over the course of the next two years the team grew through a regular Sunday evening Bible study, advertising, and a few informational meetings held at various locations in the area. The members of the team developed strong relational ties to one another as they went through the long process of finding a church planter to lead them. In May of 2008, Adam Brice was called to be the church planter for this new work. Adam had previously served for 9 years as the organizing pastor of Christ The King Presbyterian Church in suburban Philadelphia. Adam and his wife, Liz, are from the Midwest, and had been praying for an opportunity to return to the Midwest when they heard about the church planting opportunity in the Lafayette/West Lafayette area.
Adam felt that his gifts of teaching, preaching, and leadership, combined with his Midwestern upbringing would make him well-suited for this particular church planting project. He and his family arrived in June 2008, and spent the rest of the summer getting settled in, learning about their new community, and leading the church planting team through some strategic planning exercises. In October 2008 the church began to meet on Sunday evenings for worship, and various ministry teams were formed to help plan different aspects of our life together and our ministry to the community.
